ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Lineberry Foundation was a vision of Novella and Edwin C. Lineberry.
Mrs.. Lineberry created the Foundation in 2003 in honor of her late husband,
Edwin C. Lineberry, a successful real estate entrepreneur who was generous
and never forgot how it felt to be in need.
The Lineberrys called Taos, New Mexico home and would routinely help neighbors
and townspeople in their community whenever they saw a need. Mr. Lineberry
is credited with building the first grocery store in Taos so the locals wouldn't
have to drive treacherous mountain roads to buy groceries. He built a mill and
raised chickens to supply the store with flour and eggs. Mr. Line berry was also
instrumental in supplying the town of Taos with fresh drinking water, the building
of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, the creation of the Centinel Bank in Taos and
building the Mariposa Apartments for low-income housing.
The Lineberrys loved New Mexico and thought it was a beautiful place with
amazing people. After the death of Mrs. Lineberry, her two daughters and a local
attorney, who was a longtime advisor, took over the Foundation operations. Today
the Foundation addresses the needs of communities throughout New Mexico
to continue the Lineberry family legacy by supporting those in need. Their
grantmaking remains invitation only.
